Agree the safeguards

Confirm permission to use the information, retention needs, error handling, and how changes or revoked access will be reflected. Keep credentials in the approved secure configuration process, never in posts or comments.

Verify before relying on it

Use an agreed test plan and confirm what actually happens in both systems. Do not assume that a signup, payment, and enrollment are interchangeable events. Document the support owner and a way to pause the integration if it produces incorrect updates.
