Create your first run, step by step
Turn a teaching plan into a reviewable run proposal with clear IST dates, realistic session lengths, seats, daily titles, and reviewer notes.
In this article
Create your first run by selecting Propose a run in the instructor dashboard and submitting a schedule for an existing published workshop. The team reviews the proposal and sets pricing before approval creates the run.
Use Propose a workshop run for the form reference. The steps below help you prepare a plan that is easy to assess.
Match the published workshop to your lesson plan
- Open your instructor dashboard and select Propose a run.
- Choose the workshop whose audience and outcome match what you will teach. If the workshop is missing, coordinate its publication with the team.
- Give the run a recognizable cohort name, such as November 2026 Evening Run. Keep the workshop's subject separate from the cohort label.
This form proposes another delivery of a workshop; it does not create a new workshop page.
Build the schedule around practice time
- Enter the first date and time in First session (IST). Convert your availability to IST before entering it; include IST when discussing the schedule with reviewers.
- Set Days from 1–30 and Hours per day from 1–8. Reserve time for demonstration, practice, questions, and a recap.
- Choose Seats from 1–1000 based on how many learners you and any helpers can support. The form's maximum is not a recommended class size.
- Fill in each Session titles field with a task learners will practice that day.
Approval initially creates one session on each consecutive day at the proposed start time. For a weekly or irregular schedule, explain the intended dates in your notes and coordinate them with the team. After approval, check and update each session before sharing the timetable with students.
Give the reviewer decisions they can act on
- In Notes for the team, state the audience, prerequisites, practical output, and any schedule exception.
- Explain the reason for your duration and seat count when it affects teaching support.
- Identify anything still needing confirmation, such as tool access or another instructor.
- Review the date, IST time, day titles, and seats together, then select Submit for review.
Use the run title and proposal note templates for concrete examples. Clear notes reduce ambiguity; they do not guarantee a review time or approval.
Keep revisions in the proposal conversation
Open the proposal to read team replies and decisions. While it is Pending review or Changes requested, you can edit and resubmit or withdraw. Use What changed? to explain revisions in the thread; a reply alone does not update the form fields.
Follow Review and resubmit a run proposal. Once approved, select Manage it and prepare the classroom.
