Templates for classroom welcomes, reminders, and wrap-ups
Adapt practical classroom posts for day-one preparation, pinned rules, the day-before reminder, recording availability, and the final recap.
In this article
Use these templates as classroom posts after replacing the bracketed details with confirmed information. Give each post one purpose and direct students to the correct run, channel, or dashboard action.
Welcome the class with one preparation task
Before: “Welcome everyone! Get ready for an amazing journey.”
After: “Welcome to Claude for Work. Before day 1, check your access to the tool we will use and introduce the work task you want to practice in #general.”
Post in #general and pin it if it is the main starting instruction:
Welcome to [workshop], [run name]. Our first session is [date] at [time] IST.
We will practice [specific task or output].
Before class, complete [one preparation task] and check [required tool access].
Open this run in your explainx workshop dashboard for the schedule and joining link.
Introduce yourself in #general with the task you want to practice; put setup questions in #doubts.
For a separate welcome email, adapt Write a workshop welcome message.
Pin classroom rules students can follow
Before: “Be respectful. No spam.”
After: “Ask lesson questions in #doubts with what you tried and where you got stuck. Reply in the existing thread when continuing the same question.”
How we will use this classroom:
1. Use #general for introductions and progress, and #doubts for lesson questions.
2. Include the task, what you tried, and what happened. Keep follow-ups in the same thread.
3. Find the teaching prompts in #prompts and notices in #updates.
4. Share sample or anonymized material; leave out passwords and private client information.
5. Member links outside explainx, email addresses, and imported .txt text wait for staff review.
6. Keep replies constructive and relevant to the exercise.
Pin the post using Pin and replace channel names if you renamed them. See Post classroom messages and replies.
Write a day-before reminder with an exact date
Before: “See you tomorrow at the usual time!”
After: “Day 2 is tomorrow, [date], at [time] IST. Bring your draft brief so we can check it against the source together.”
Day [number], [session title], is tomorrow, [date], at [time] IST.
Bring [required draft or preparation]. We will use it to [specific task].
Open your explainx workshop dashboard for the joining link; joining opens five minutes before the start.
Post preparation questions in #doubts.
Check #updates for automatic notices before posting your own reminder there. These templates do not schedule messages. Use @everyone only when the whole class needs the notice; @here reaches currently online classroom members.
Announce a recording only after checking access
Before: “Recording uploaded. Enjoy!”
After: “Day 1's recording is available through Recordings in the classroom header. Revisit the source-checking example, then try the exercise with the second sample.”
The recording for day [number], [session title], is available.
Select Recordings in the classroom header, then open the session in your workshop dashboard.
For practice, revisit [example or section] and try [one task].
Put follow-up questions in #doubts.
Test playback first. Automatic #updates may already announce availability, so add a manual post when it contributes useful guidance. See Find and share workshop recordings.
End the run with one achievable next step
Before: “Congratulations, you're all experts now. Certificates soon!”
After: “You practiced drafting and checking a project brief. Try the method on one new sample, then review your completion and feedback steps in the workshop dashboard.”
Thanks for taking part in [workshop]. We practiced [task] and checked [quality criterion].
Your next exercise: [one task using the method].
Use Recordings for available replays and #doubts for remaining lesson questions.
Review your session completion, feedback, and certificate steps in your workshop dashboard.
[If a community is ready: Continue practicing in [community name] at [its confirmed link].]
Remove the optional community sentence if no destination is ready. Follow After class: keep your students learning before moving the cohort.
