Join a teacher community and manage your membership
Join an explainx teacher community through an invitation, public profile, payment, or eligible workshop, and find help with access and cancellation.
In this article
Use your explainx account to join a teacher’s community. Open the invitation your teacher shared, or find the community in Discover. Each community sets its own joining options. After joining, return through My communities.
Join with an invitation or public profile
For an invitation, open the complete link, sign in if asked, and select Join community. If the link has expired, been revoked, or reached its join limit, ask the teacher for a new one. Keep invitation links private.
On a public profile, a free open community lets you join directly. A community with instructor approval asks you to submit a request; access starts after the team approves it. An invitation-only profile requires a link from the host.
If a teacher has removed your membership, another invitation cannot restore it. Contact the teacher about your access.
Join with payment or workshop enrollment
A paid profile shows the available one-time, monthly, or workshop options. Review the amount, currency, and whether the plan renews before continuing to checkout.
After returning from checkout, open Membership & billing and select Check payment if access is still pending. Access starts after payment is confirmed. If a checkout is unfinished, Resume checkout may be available. Do not create another purchase just because the return page still shows a pending payment.
For workshop access, use the same explainx account as the eligible paid enrollment. Active or completed paid enrollments can qualify when the community includes that workshop. Refunded or cancelled enrollments do not. Having access to one classroom does not automatically add you to every teacher community.
Find discussions, events, and resources
Open Conversations to read recent posts and Spaces to find a topic. Use Write a post for a new question, giving enough context for someone to help. Announcements may allow only the teaching team to start posts, though members can reply to open conversations.
Check Events for upcoming sessions and RSVP with I’m going. Open Resources for materials shared by the teacher. If an external meeting or resource denies access, ask the host to check its sharing permissions.
Cancel or leave
To cancel a monthly subscription, open Membership & billing → Manage payments & cancellation and follow the billing portal’s instructions. Check the paid-period end date. Cancellation at period end keeps access until then unless removal, a refund, or a payment dispute ends it sooner. Billing controls remain available even if you have lost community access.
To leave the community, open Members → Leave this community. Leaving ends community membership and schedules cancellation of future subscription renewal; it does not issue a refund. Use cancellation in the billing portal if you want to keep access for the rest of an already paid period.
For unresolved payment or account issues, contact support through the help center. Share the community name and the account you used privately with support, rather than posting payment details in a discussion.
