Install an agent skill or try it with Melo
Open a skill listing, follow its installation instructions, and check whether the skill can run as a conversation or needs a local workspace.
In this article
Open Skills, choose a skill, and read its instructions and installation section. Use the setup shown for your agent and that specific skill.
Choose the right way to use the skill
Try now runs a supported skill as a guided conversation in Melo. It does not give Melo access to your machine or connected accounts.
Needs sandbox means the skill requires commands, files, or a workspace. Install locally means it needs your own agent, credentials, or a persistent service. If Melo says that execution is unavailable, follow the local installation instructions rather than assuming the skill ran successfully.
Review the repository and skill instructions before running installation commands. Copy the exact command or configuration from the listing and check the target agent, prerequisites, and permissions. Do not substitute a similar skill name into a command.
Check whether installation worked
Follow the listing's verification steps in the agent where you installed it. A copied command or a Melo explanation does not confirm local installation. If the agent does not recognize the skill, check its install location, requirements, and loading instructions on the listing or upstream project.
For scan results, distinguish the checks reported from a promise of safety. You still need to review what a skill will read, run, or send.
Get help with an error
Tell Melo the skill's listing, agent, and exact error text, with secrets removed. For an explainx listing or Try now problem, email [email protected]. For an upstream installation issue, use the project's documented support channel. Never paste API keys, login tokens, or private files into public comments.
