Work backward from the output

Define the artifact and the criteria for a useful version. Identify the decisions learners must make, then divide them into manageable steps. Check that the prerequisites give everyone a reasonable starting point.

Plan practice and feedback

Demonstrate a small example, let learners attempt a variation, and review their choices. Prepare common failure cases so you can explain why an approach breaks. Leave room for questions instead of filling every minute with slides.

Review the experience

Test the exercise with someone near the intended starting level. Check the setup time, unclear instructions, and external tool dependencies. After the cohort, use completed work and learner feedback to decide what to change. More resources are useful only when they support the promised outcome.
