In short: Replica shows how a whole product process can now be packaged as a free download of AI skills. The tools are getting capable, but copying an app still raises trademark, terms-of-service and quality questions that a prompt cannot answer for you.

Replica Skill: Eleven Free Claude Skills That Clone Any App, From Recon to Deploy
Replica is a free set of eleven Claude Code skills, which are reusable instruction packs, that guide an AI through studying an app, rebuilding its features, testing them, rebranding and publishing a version. The project by Jake Schincariol drew about 1.9k stars in a week. It is early, and its example scores come from its own README.
What you can do: Read the project's README before installing anything, and check an app's terms of service and trademarks before building a lookalike.
AI News Briefs
Tesla Roadster Event Recap: Everything Announced, and Everything That Was Not
Tesla's October 15 event showed one product: a redesigned Roadster in three versions, with a 0.81-second 0-to-60 run and a 2028 production target. All numbers are Tesla's own. No price was given, and there was no Optimus or Cybercab news. The next checkpoint is its October 21 earnings call.
The X Subscription: One Plan for Grok, Cursor and X Premium, From Free to $200 a Month
SpaceXSI merged Grok, Cursor and X Premium into one plan on October 12, with five tiers from free to $200 a month and a shared usage pool. Existing plans continue unchanged. People who mostly use rival models inside Cursor may pay more, because those would be billed at metered rates.
NetBSD, the AI-Free OS: What Its Rule Says and How Debian, OpenBSD and FreeBSD Differ
NetBSD presumes code written by AI chatbots is tainted, mainly over licensing worries, and bars it without written approval from its core team. The rule dates from 2024, and The Register revisited it this week. Debian allows AI with full accountability, OpenBSD refuses it, and FreeBSD is still undecided.
Intel GPU D270: A 480 GB LPDDR5X Inference Card With No HBM and 350 W Air Cooling
Intel listed the D270, a data center card for running AI models, with up to 480 GB of memory and air cooling, and without the costly high bandwidth memory rivals use. Intel pitches it for AI agents that juggle long tasks. Speed, price and availability are not published yet.
Upcoming Workshops
AI Builder Workshop: Build and Ship with Claude Code
AI Builder Workshop: Build and Ship with Claude Code Live workshop · Nov 15–23, 2026
Four live sessions that take you from an idea to working automations, AI agents and a deployed full-stack app using Claude Code. The workflow also carries over to Cursor. A good fit if you want to build with AI, not just read about it.
Claude for Work: Become Your Team’s AI Person
Claude for Work: Become Your Team’s AI Person Live workshop · Nov 28–29, 2026
Two live evenings of hands-on practice. You build a knowledge base, an agent skill, a prompt library and your own Artifacts, and connect Claude to the apps you already use. Made for people who want to help their team work smarter with AI.
