# Write discussion prompts that deepen learning

A good classroom prompt asks learners to explain a decision, compare approaches, or reflect on a result. Tie it to the work they are doing in the explainx workshop.

## Ask one focused question

Try a prompt such as “Which check caught the most important error in your output, and why?” Include the relevant example and the detail you want learners to share. Avoid combining several unrelated questions in one thread.

## Put it in the right class

Authorized instructors can publish class prompts in the private classroom. Choose the correct session so learners can find the discussion alongside related work. General discussion can stay in General; troubleshooting belongs in Doubts.

## Respond usefully

Model a thoughtful answer, acknowledge different approaches, and ask a follow-up that helps the learner explain their reasoning. Encourage peer feedback against clear criteria. Remind learners to replace confidential inputs with safe examples before posting.
