Open [Melo](https://explainx.ai/dashboard/melo) and describe what you want to understand or accomplish. Include the topic and the result you want, such as an explanation, practice question, or help finding something on explainx.

## Choose a learning activity

Use Chat for a direct conversation. The mode controls also offer guided learning, simple explanations, quizzes, flashcards, practice, explain-back, and interactive explanations. Choose the activity that fits your goal, then answer the prompts it gives you.

For standalone interactive exercises, browse [Practice](https://explainx.ai/practice). For structured reading, start with [Pathways](https://explainx.ai/pathways). Melo can help explain the material without enrolling you in a paid workshop or installing a tool.

## Give Melo the relevant context

When an explainx page offers a Melo action, use it to discuss that item. You can also attach supported files or learning sources through the available chat controls. If an attachment is rejected, follow the format, size, and number limits shown in the error. Do not assume that file contents are retained as part of chat history.

For a product error, include its exact text and the page or step where it appears. For workshop access questions, Melo first checks your signed-in account's enrollments, assigned seats, and session schedule. It may need one clarification if several workshops match or the error occurs in a third-party app. If a check fails, it will direct you to the dashboard to confirm the details.

## A request fails or you reach a limit

Check the displayed error and your [usage page](https://explainx.ai/dashboard/usage). Follow the reset or plan information shown for your account; Melo should not invent a remaining allowance or reset time.

Refresh after a connection problem and retry when appropriate. If the issue continues, email [support@explainx.ai](mailto:support@explainx.ai) with the failing mode and sanitized error. Melo can guide you and check your workshop access, but cannot reset usage, verify payment transactions, or change an enrollment from chat.
