# Help learners participate in live sessions

Create several ways for learners to contribute during an explainx session. Participation should help them practice and explain their thinking, not just keep the chat busy.

## Start with an accessible question

Ask about the task they want to improve or a constraint they face. Let people answer in chat, aloud, or through the exercise. Make it clear that sharing personal or workplace information is optional.

## Use the work as the discussion

Invite learners to compare outputs, spot an error, or explain why they chose a step. Give them time to think before asking for answers. Keep a sample ready if nobody wants to share their own work.

## Close the loop

Acknowledge contributions and connect them to the learning objective. Capture unanswered questions in Doubts. When a learner is quiet, check privately through an agreed channel before assuming they are disengaged; they may be concentrating, troubleshooting, or unable to speak.
