# Start a workshop with people who know your work

People familiar with your work can give useful early feedback on an explainx workshop idea. Ask for input on the problem and exercise before asking for enrollment.

## Start with a relevant group

Choose colleagues, collaborators, or former clients who encounter the task you want to teach. Send a personal note explaining the intended learner and outcome. Ask whether the task is relevant and which step is hardest.

## Test the learning experience

Invite willing participants to try a short exercise. Observe where instructions break down. A person completing the task independently is stronger evidence than a friendly compliment about the topic.

## Make the paid invitation clear

Once an explainx run is confirmed, share its published page with those who asked for updates. Explain what changed after the pilot and what the live workshop includes. Keep feedback requests separate from marketing consent, and respect anyone who declines or does not respond.
