# Copywriting good practices for instructors

Write instructor copy around one reader, one task, and one next action. Use confirmed run details and the names students see in explainx so they can act without asking where to go.

## Match the message to its explainx surface

1. Use proposal notes to help the team assess the audience, teaching plan, schedule, and open questions.
2. Use a run name to distinguish a cohort and daily titles to describe the work practiced in each session.
3. Use classroom posts to direct enrolled learners to a task, channel, session, or recording.
4. Use a community description and move-email note to explain where learning continues after the run.

For the public workshop offer, use [the workshop copy checklist](/help/articles/workshop-copy-checklist) and [Build a workshop page learners can evaluate](/help/articles/write-a-workshop-page). Those guides cover page copy; the templates here focus on instructor tools and classroom communication.

## Replace vague directions with a visible next action

**Before:** “Exciting session tomorrow! Everything you need is online.”

**After:** “Day 2 is tomorrow, [date], at [time] IST. Open this run in your explainx workshop dashboard for the joining link. Bring your draft prompt and post setup questions in #doubts.”

1. Name the day, task, or resource first.
2. Include an exact date and time zone when timing matters.
3. Name the destination, such as **#doubts**, **Recordings**, or the run dashboard, and use the correct link where helpful.
4. End with one action the reader can complete.

The example is a template, not a scheduled reminder. Replace every bracketed field and check renamed channels before posting.

## Separate confirmed facts from teaching intentions

Write “We will practice checking a summary against its source” when that is the planned exercise. Avoid promising that every learner will become an expert or achieve a business result.

Only announce an approved run as available, and only say a recording is ready after checking it. Describe certificate steps through the learner dashboard. Keep pricing and partnership statements consistent with the approved offer; revenue share is agreed per partnership before you launch.

## Choose and check the right template

1. For reviewable scheduling copy, use [run names, daily titles, and proposal notes](/help/articles/run-title-and-proposal-note-templates).
2. For welcomes, rules, reminders, recording announcements, and wrap-ups, use [classroom teaching messages](/help/articles/classroom-teaching-message-templates).
3. For a post-class destination, use [community descriptions and move-email notes](/help/articles/community-and-move-email-templates).
4. Before sending, read the message as a learner: can they identify the task, find the destination, and tell whether action is needed now?

Use lowercase **explainx** and the domain **explainx.ai** consistently. Keep tool requirements and preparation explicit, and remove claims you cannot support with the confirmed teaching plan.
