# Prepare Zoom settings for a free lesson

All explainx sessions, including free lessons, run on Zoom. Prepare host permissions and capacity; the dashboard joining link becomes available five minutes before class starts.

## Check access and capacity

Confirm who can start the meeting, how attendees enter, and whether the account supports the planned duration and audience. Assign another authorized host when you need help with arrivals or questions.

## Protect the teaching space

Set screen-sharing and microphone permissions deliberately. Explain how attendees should ask questions and whether the session is recorded. Test captions, audio playback, and the view learners will see during a demonstration.

## Rehearse as a participant

Ask someone to join using the published instructions. Check that they can enter and see the shared material without gaining host privileges. Keep private meeting links and host credentials out of public comments. Coordinate any replacement joining link with the explainx team before sending an update.
