Use [Connect explainx MCP](https://explainx.ai/mcp) to bring explainx search and information into a supported AI app. Use the [MCP server directory](https://explainx.ai/mcp-servers) to find servers provided by other projects. These are different setup paths.

## Connect explainx to your AI app

1. Open the explainx MCP page and choose your client guide.
2. Copy the endpoint or configuration shown there into the supported client.
3. Sign in with explainx when prompted and review the authorization request.
4. Use the guide's example request to check the connection.

Open [MCP connections in your dashboard](https://explainx.ai/dashboard/mcp) to review authorized connections and use the available management controls. The explainx server provides public, read-only information such as news, model pricing, and directory search; it does not change your account or listings.

## Use a third-party MCP server

Open its directory listing and review the source, prerequisites, supported transport, and installation instructions. Follow that listing's configuration rather than the explainx server's endpoint. A third-party server may require separate credentials or permissions and may have different capabilities.

## The connection fails or tools are missing

Confirm which server and client you are using. Recheck the copied endpoint and the client-specific guide. If authorization did not finish or the connection was revoked, reconnect using the documented sign-in flow. Do not paste authorization tokens into Melo or a public discussion.

For an explainx connection problem, email [support@explainx.ai](mailto:support@explainx.ai) with the client name, failing step, and sanitized error. For a third-party server, check its project documentation and support. Melo can explain setup, but cannot inspect your client's private configuration or authorize a connection for you.
